![]() Glossary of Terms THREAD COUNT: The number of threads (both vertical and horizontal) per square inch of cloth. Note: Higher thread counts have a softer feel (referred to as "Hand") and are more durable and less likely to pill. PERCALE: Either 100% cotton or poly-cotton blended sheeting with a minimum of 180 threads per inch. SATEEN: Woven fabric with a smooth and lustrous sheen that resembles satin. COMBED COTTON: Cotton that has had short fibers and impurities removed. The finest cottons are made of combed cotton. MERCERIZED COTTON: A process used to increase the strength and colour saturation of the cotton. This process has the best results when used with combed cotton.

Washing and Caring for Your Linens Always wash and care for your linen product as directed on the packaging and care label. Proper care keeps your linens looking beautiful and feeling comfortable. A Few Hints to Keep Your Linens Beautiful WASH in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. FULLY dissolve detergent in washing machine to avoid soap stains and discolouring. WASH sheets and pillowcases separately from duvet covers and shams to prevent overloading. WASH linens and towels separately to avoid pilling. TUMBLE DRY at low temperatures or on permanent press cycle. REMOVE from washing machine and dryer immediately to avoid wrinkling. Iron at "cotton" setting for 100% cotton sheets and medium heat for poly-cotton blends. |
